Viaggio in Italia is a First Level University Master. It is a one-year study program focused on photography, carried out at the IUAV University of Venice since 2016.
The Master in Photography proposes itself as a new kind of educational model exploring the journey as a way of growth and experimentation. Now in its seventh edition, Viaggio in Italia is organized as a series of residencies across the Italian territory, designed and structured together with the guest photographers, institutions, professionals and local partners, professionals and local partners. Students are guided through workshops and field exercises in order to acquire and consolidate the tools and technical notions necessary for the photographer’s profession.
The aim of the project is to construct a program that traverses distinct and distant places, to reinforce the relationship with the context and the social landscape of Italy: the residencies contribute to the definition and search for a new shared consciousness of the territories crossed and of the practices constituting their particularities.
